Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Program Manager to lead and strengthen Youngistaan Foundation’s programs focused on children, adolescents, and youth in urban slums and communities of Hyderabad.

The role will involve overseeing the planning and implementation of programs, developing modules and learning resources, managing teams and volunteers, strengthening partnerships, monitoring program outcomes, and ensuring effective delivery across the organization’s children, adolescent, and youth portfolio.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong ownership, sound judgment, effective execution, and a genuine commitment to working respectfully with children, young people, and communities.

Key Responsibilities

Program Design & Implementation

Design, plan, implement, and strengthen programs for children, adolescents, and youth in urban communities

. Lead program planning, timelines, deliverables, resource requirements, and implementation strategies

. Develop education, life-skills, social-emotional learning, leadership, and youth development modules, toolkits, and structured session content

. Ensure programs are age-appropriate, participatory, inclusive, and responsive to community needs

. Identify implementation challenges and take timely corrective action.

Team & Volunteer Management.

Lead and coordinate program teams, facilitators, interns, and volunteers involved in program delivery

. Provide guidance, mentoring, and regular feedback to team members

. Conduct capacity-building workshops and training for staff, volunteers, teachers, and community stakeholders

. Foster teamwork, accountability, and collaboration across program teams

. Support the development of systems and processes that improve program quality and consistency.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning

Establish and track program objectives, indicators, outputs, and outcomes

. Maintain accurate program data and documentation

. Conduct regular program reviews and identify areas for improvement

.



Prepare impact assessments, case studies, success stories, and learning documentation

. Use program data, participant feedback, and field insights to improve program design and implementation.

Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain relationships with schools, youth groups, NGOs, community organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders

. Develop and strengthen partnerships to expand program reach, improve quality, and support long-term sustainability

. Represent Youngistaan Foundation in relevant meetings, networks, workshops, and forums

. Support donor and CSR partner engagement, reporting, presentations, and review meetings.

Budget & Resource Management

Support program budgeting, resource planning, and expenditure tracking

. Ensure effective and responsible use of program resources

. Coordinate with the relevant internal teams on procurement, logistics, finance, and administrative requirements

. Ensure program activities are delivered within approved budgets and timelines.

Organizational Alignment

Ensure programs are aligned with Youngistaan Foundation’s vision, strategy, program objectives, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

. Identify opportunities for innovation, collaboration, learning, and scale

. Take ownership of program outcomes and proactively address operational and implementation challenges

. Contribute to organizational planning, strategy discussions, and program development.

Safeguarding

Ensure that all programs are implemented with a strong focus on child safety, safeguarding, dignity, inclusion, and well-being

. Ensure compliance with Youngistaan Foundation’s safeguarding and child-protection policies and procedures

. Maintain appropriate professional boundaries while working with children, adolescents, youth, and communities

. The selected candidate may be required to undergo reference and background verification as part of the organization’s safeguarding process.

Requirement:

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in program management within the development sector

. Demonstrated experience working with children, adolescents, youth, or community-based programs

. Experience in program planning, implementation, team coordination, training, reporting, and stakeholder engagement

. Experience managing teams, volunteers,



or field-based program staff

. Experience developing and implementing structured programs, modules, learning interventions, or community initiatives

. Experience working with CSR partners, donors, NGOs, schools, or government stakeholders will be an advantage.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW), Development Studies, Education, Public Health, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field is required

. A Master’s degree (MSW, MBA – Social Entrepreneurship, MPH, or equivalent) is preferred and will be given additional consideration.

. Strong monitoring, reporting, documentation, and data-management abilities

. Proven ability in networking, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and partnership-building

. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

. Proficiency in Telugu, Hindi, and English is mandatory

. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders

. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

. Demonstrated ownership and ability to work in a field-oriented environment

. Passion for working with children and young people, with a strong commitment to social impact.

Work Requirements.

Regular field visits across the slum communities are required The role may occasionally require evening or weekend work based on program schedules, community activities, workshops, or events The candidate should be comfortable working directly with children, adolescents, youth, community members, volunteers, and partner organizations.
