About the Opportunity The School of Electronics Engineering, VIT Vellore, invites motivated and passionate candidates to join as Ph.D. Research Scholars in the EEICS lab under the guidance of Dr. Vishal Gupta. Candidates will work on cutting-edge problems in nanoelectronics, VLSI design, emerging memory devices, AI-driven circuit applications, and two thematic areas: 1. Edge AI Applications and 2. Drones & Autonomous Systems.

Role Description
This is a full time, on-site role for a Ph.D. Candidate in VIT Vellore. The Ph.D. Candidate will be involved in conducting original research, analyzing data, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and contributing to ongoing projects at VIT. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with faculty members, attending seminars, and presenting research findings at conferences.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree or Bachelor’s (Direct Ph.D.) in Electronics, VLSI, Nanotechnology, Physics or related fields is required
- Interest in nanoscale devices, circuits, and computational electronics
- Strong academic and research skills
- Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation
- Excellent writing and communication skills for publishing and presenting research
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
- Previous research experience and publications are highly appreciated
- Proficiency in relevant software tools and lab equipment

- Emerging Devices (Perovskite and TiO2)
and Circuits (RRAM, Memristors, FinFET/CMOS)
- Application of AI/ML in electronic circuit & system design
- Fault-tolerant VLSI architectures, hardware security & reliability modeling
- Neuromorphic computing, spiking neural networks, smart sensing systems & in-memory computing
