About the Role

Wayver is looking for a highly organised, proactive and people-focused HR & Operations Executive to work closely with the firm's leadership as the firm continues to grow. The person joining us will work closely with the firm's leadership in shaping how the law firm operates internally, improving recruitment and people processes, building better systems and ensuring that important operational tasks are handled efficiently.

A major part of the role will involve helping us identify, attract and hire the best possible talent for a growing corporate and IP law firm based in Delhi. This includes interns, associates and other professionals who may become an key part of the firm's future.

For someone early in their career, this role offers exposure to how a growing professional-services firm is built from the inside, with the opportunity to take ownership of processes instead of simply executing isolated HR tasks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

- Manage job postings across LinkedIn, job portals, college placement cells and other relevant channels.
- Conduct targeted searches to identify suitable candidates for different roles.
- Source both active and passive candidates.
- Screen applications and shortlist candidates based on role requirements, experience and overall fit.
- Conduct initial screening calls and collect relevant candidate information.
- Coordinate interviews with the firm's leadership and other team members.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for interns, associates and other positions.
- Conduct market mapping and research to identify high-quality legal talent.
- Build relationships with universities, placement committees and other talent sources.
- Continuously improve the firm's recruitment processes so that strong candidates can be identified and engaged efficiently.

The objective will be to help the firm consistently find the right people, rather than merely fill vacancies.

2. HR Operations

- Coordinate onboarding and joining formalities for interns and employees.
- Maintain employee and intern records and documentation.
- Track attendance, leave, internships, probation periods and other relevant dates.
- Prepare routine HR documents, letters and internship certificates using approved templates.
- Maintain HR trackers and periodically provide structured updates to the firm's leadership.
- Coordinate payroll inputs, reimbursements and related information.
- Manage exit formalities and ensure appropriate revocation of firm accounts and access.
- Help improve and standardise internal HR processes as the firm grows.

- Maintain appropriate confidentiality while handling employee, candidate and firm information.

3. Team & Performance Coordination

- Maintain structured records relating to intern and employee performance.
- Coordinate periodic feedback and performance-review exercises.
- Collect feedback from supervising lawyers and maintain appropriate records.
- Track agreed action points and follow up on completion.
- Flag recurring delays, performance concerns or operational issues.
- Support performance improvement and development processes where required.
- Help ensure that new team members understand the firm's internal processes, expectations and working standards.

4. Firm Operations

- Work closely with the firm's leadership to improve day-to-day internal operations.
- Maintain internal task, administrative and operational trackers.
- Follow up with team members on pending tasks and deadlines.
- Coordinate meetings, interviews and internal schedules.
- Record and track action points arising from internal discussions.
- Maintain and improve SOPs, templates, checklists and recurring workflows.
- Help organise electronic records and internal documentation.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers.
- Track subscriptions, renewals and recurring operational requirements.
- Research software, tools, vendors and operational solutions where required.
- Assist with routine administrative correspondence and coordination.
- Identify inefficient processes and suggest practical improvements.
- Take ownership of miscellaneous operational matters so that routine coordination does not remain dependent on the firm's leadership.

What We Are Looking For

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce, Management or another relevant discipline.
- Fresh graduates and candidates with up to one year of relevant experience may apply.
- Previous internships or experience in HR, recruitment, operations or administration would be preferred.

- Ability to manage several responsibilities at the same time.
- Ability to maintain accurate trackers and records.
- Ability to independently research and solve routine problems.
- Good judgment when dealing with sensitive or confidential matters.

Who Would Enjoy This Role

This role would suit someone who prefers a broad, hands-on position instead of a narrowly defined HR job. You may be a particularly good fit if you enjoy finding robust people and understanding what makes someone suitable for a role, creating order out of multiple moving tasks, improving systems and processes, following matters through until they are completed, working directly with decision-makers, learning how a law firm operates as a business, and taking ownership of responsibilities early in your career.

Remote Working Requirements

- Access to a reliable laptop or desktop and stable internet connection.
- Availability during the firm's prescribed working hours.
- Responsiveness during working hours.
- Comfort coordinating through email, video calls, and other firm-approved communication tools.
- Ability to maintain proper task and status updates without repeated reminders.
- Compliance with the firm's confidentiality and information-security requirements.
- Use of firm-approved accounts and systems when handling confidential information.

What Success in This Role Looks Like

Over time, the HR & Operations Executive should become a key point of coordination for the firm's internal operations. Recruitment processes should move forward without constant intervention. Strong candidates should be identified and engaged. Interviews should be properly coordinated. Team records should remain organised. Pending matters should be followed up on. Internal processes should become clearer and more efficient.

Most importantly, the person should develop an understanding of what kind of people Wayver should hire and how the firm should operate as it grows, and should work closely with the firm's leadership in building both.

Equal Opportunity & Confidentiality

Wayver is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religion, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality and comply with the firm's information-security policies and procedures.
