Remote (India) · Internship · 20+ hours a week
Kotlin · Jetpack Compose
QuizAttempt is an AI-powered learning and assessment platform for schools, used by 200+ teachers and 5,000+ students every working day. Teachers create quizzes, question papers and worksheets; students attempt them; schools and parents see where each child stands.
We have two native Android apps. Parent is where a guardian follows their children across schools — dashboards, results, attendance, notifications. Teacher is the daily working tool — attendance marking, test authoring, class analytics. Both are native Kotlin and Compose, talking to a Spring Boot backend.
You will be working on a real product used by schools, not a demo project.
What you'll do
· Build screens in Kotlin with Jetpack Compose
· Work on the API layer against our backend, including loading, error and retry states
· Features for parents — child dashboards, results, attendance, notifications
· Features for teachers — attendance marking, test authoring, class analytics
· Write tests for the features you build
Our stack
Kotlin · Jetpack Compose · Coroutines and Flow · Retrofit · DataStore · JUnit · Gradle · Firebase push · Git and GitHub
You do not need to know all of this before joining.
What we're looking for
· Good programming fundamentals and logical thinking
· Some experience with Kotlin
· Any Android app you have built, even a small one. Projects matter more than certificates
· Basic understanding of how an app talks to an API
· Can read existing code and work out how it fits together
· Works independently, tries first and then asks clearly when genuinely stuck
· Comfortable with Git and GitHub
You don't need to be an expert. We care more about your ability to learn, think and build.
AI tools are welcome
We actively encourage you to use AI tools such as Claude to understand code, debug problems and learn faster. But AI should be your coding assistant, not your replacement. You should understand the code you submit and be able to explain why it works. Our apps have an existing architecture and coding patterns, and we expect your solution to fit within them rather than around them.
Time commitment
20+ hours per week for the full duration of the internship. Timings are flexible. We do not watch the clock, but the work assigned to you needs to be completed.
Stipend
Paid (Performace). The initial motivation should be curiosity, the wish to learn and grow, and not the money.
What you'll get
· Ship features into live apps that parents and teachers use every day
· Learn native Android properly - Kotlin, Compose, and a real production architecture
· Experience of a production codebase: API contracts, testing, release
· See how an app actually reaches the Play Store: signing, review, staged rollout
· Weekly feedback on your code, reviewed by a founder
· Work directly with the co-founders
· A certificate and a letter of recommendation
· Flexible hours, fully remote
· A full time offer on strong performance
