About ABC FilmFactory

ABC FilmFactory is the content, licensing and distribution arm of the ABC ecosystem. While ABC Talkies is our viewer-facing film platform, ABC FilmFactory works with filmmakers and content owners to discover, acquire, curate, market and monetise content across ABC Talkies and other platforms.

We are building a solid and diverse content library spanning feature films, short films, web series, documentaries, independent cinema and regional content.

The Role

n

We are looking for people with a strong eye for good content and a genuine passion for films and storytelling to discover and source content for ABC FilmFactory and ABC Talkies.

n

The role involves finding interesting content and creators across India and building relationships with filmmakers, producers and content owners.

n

What You Will Do

n

n
- Discover and source interesting films, short films, web series, documentaries and independent content.
n
- Identify emerging filmmakers, creators and production houses.
n
- Build relationships with filmmakers, producers, creators, film schools, festivals and content communities.
n
- Track upcoming films and new content across different languages and regions.
n
- Evaluate content for its creative quality, audience potential and suitability for ABC Talkies and other platforms.
n
- Understand basic rights availability and commercial expectations.
n




- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential content acquisitions.
n
- Work with the Business Development team to understand what OTT platforms and other buyers are looking for.
n
- Present promising content internally for consideration and acquisition.
n

Who We Are Looking For

n

n
- 1–2 years of experience in content acquisition, OTT, film, media, production, distribution or entertainment.
n
- Freshers with an excellent academic record and demonstrated passion for films, storytelling, media or content are welcome.
n
- A genuine love for cinema and curiosity about new filmmakers and stories.
n
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
n
- Good understanding of films, digital content and audience trends.
n
- Proactive, observant and willing to discover content beyond the obvious.
n
- Existing relationships within the filmmaking/content ecosystem will be a strong advantage.
n

Language Skills

n

English and Hindi are essential.

n

Additional regional language proficiency will be preferred depending on the market — for example, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, etc.

n

The Ideal Candidate

Someone who watches beyond the mainstream, discovers interesting creators before they become widely known, understands what makes content compelling and can build genuine relationships with filmmakers.
