Academic Counsellor Roles & Responsibilities
Counsel prospective students and working professionals regarding suitable academic programs based on their educational background, career goals, and skilled aspirations.
Handle inbound and outbound calls, WhatsApp inquiries, emails, and other communication channels to engage with prospective learners.
Understand students’ requirements and provide accurate information about programs, eligibility, admission process, duration, fees, and career opportunities.
Generate and manage leads through regular follow-ups and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
Convert qualified leads into successful admissions by effectively communicating the value and perks of the programs.
Build strong relationships with prospective students and provide end-to-end assistance throughout the counselling and admission journey.
Achieve individual and team-wise admission/sales targets within defined timelines.




Follow up consistently with interested prospects and ensure timely closure of leads.
Maintain accurate records of leads, follow-ups, counselling interactions, and conversions in CRM or internal systems.
Coordinate with internal teams such as admissions, operations, and academic teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
Stay updated on the organization’s academic programs, admission policies, market trends, and competitor offerings.
Address student queries and concerns professionally while ensuring a positive counselling experience.
Participate in campaigns, webinars, seminars, and other student engagement activities when required.
Prepare regular reports related to lead status, follow-ups, conversions, and target achievement.
Maintain skilled communication and uphold the organization’s standards while interacting with students and other stakeholders.
