Position: GIS & Image Analysis Specialist
Education
Post Graduate Degree in GIS / Geoinformatics / Remote Sensing or a related subject; OR
BE/B.Tech in Computer Science / Electronics & Communication / Information Technology; OR
MCA
Experience
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Image Analysis, Remote Sensing, and GIS-related work .
Key Skills & Technical Requirements
Hands-on experience with ERDAS, ArcGIS, ENVI, SNAP , and similar GIS/image-processing software.
Understanding of cloud infrastructure , particularly for data storage and computational processing.
Solid experience in Microwave Satellite Data Processing .
Hands-on experience with Google Earth Engine (GEE) .
Experience in Satellite Image Processing , including:
Geo-referencing
GIS data creation
DEM creation and analysis
Image classification and analysis
Other remote sensing and GIS-related activities
Practical experience in Optical and Microwave satellite image analysis .
Good understanding of GIS and remote sensing concepts .
Ability to understand the interdependency and correlation between satellite data and biophysical data .
Understanding of satellite data and ground-based weather/climate data will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Process and analyze optical and microwave satellite imagery .
Perform geo-referencing, GIS data creation, DEM generation, and spatial analysis .
Conduct image analysis using ERDAS, ArcGIS, ENVI, SNAP, and Google Earth Engine .
Process and interpret satellite data for GIS and remote sensing applications.
Work with cloud-based infrastructure for storage, processing, and analysis of geospatial data .
Analyze relationships between satellite observations and biophysical/weather/climate data .
Support GIS-based mapping, visualization, and other geospatial analysis activities.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should have strong practical knowledge of GIS, Remote Sensing, Satellite Image Processing, and Image Analysis , with hands-on experience in both Optical and Microwave data and relevant GIS software.
