Role Summary

n

We are looking for a skilled Monitoring & Automation Engineer with solid expertise in ITRS Geneos. The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise monitoring solutions while driving automation initiatives across technology operations teams.

n

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Geneos architecture, gateway setup, netprobes, samplers, alerting frameworks, dashboards, integrations, and operational automation using scripting technologies.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

ITRS Geneos Administration & Engineering

n

n
- Administer and maintain the ITRS Geneos monitoring platform.
n
- Configure Gateways, Netprobes, Samplers, Rules, Actions, and Alerting mechanisms.
n
- Design and implement monitoring solutions for applications, infrastructure, and middleware platforms.
n
- Build and maintain Active Dashboards and custom monitoring views.
n
- Develop monitoring standards, templates, and best practices.
n
- Perform platform upgrades, patching, capacity planning, and performance optimization.
n
- Integrate Geneos with enterprise tools and notification systems.
n

Automation & Tooling

n

n
- Develop automation solutions using Python, Shell Scripting, or PowerShell.
n
- Automate monitoring deployment, configuration management, health checks, and reporting processes.
n
- Design reusable frameworks to reduce manual operational effort.
n
- Develop integrations using APIs and automation workflows.
n
- Create automated dashboards,



reports, and operational metrics.

Monitoring Strategy & Governance

n

n
- Define monitoring standards and onboarding processes.
n
- Work closely with infrastructure, middleware, cloud, and development teams to establish monitoring requirements.
n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within monitoring and observability platforms.
n
- Ensure monitoring coverage and operational effectiveness across the technology landscape.
n

Required Skills

Mandatory

n

- Strong hands-on experience with ITRS Geneos Administration and Configuration.
n
- Experience with Gateway Hub, Netprobes, Rules, Samplers, Active Dashboards, and Alerting.
n
- Strong Linux/Unix administration knowledge.
n
- Experience with Python, Shell Scripting, or PowerShell.
n
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability concepts.
n
- Experience with REST APIs and integrations.
n

Preferred

n

n
- Exposure to Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, ELK, or similar monitoring platforms.
n
- Experience with Ansible, Git, Jenkins, or CI/CD tools.
n
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
n
- Understanding of ITIL processes and operational monitoring practices.
n

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
