About Us

Indian Silk House Agencies (ISHA) is a 55-year-old heritage ethnic wear brand with 67 stores across 60 cities in India, and a quick-growing e-commerce and international presence. We're known for our sarees, jewellery, and kidswear collections — built on a legacy of trust, craftsmanship, and customer relationships that span generations.

As we scale nationally, we're building out our merchandising bench — professionals who can bring structure, data, and commercial discipline to how we plan, buy, and move product across a large and diverse store network.

The Role

As Merchandiser , you'll sit at the intersection of design and retail operations — owning category planning, inventory efficiency, and vendor relationships across our stores. You'll work closely with our design team to turn creative concepts into commercially sound, sellable collections, and with retail ops to make sure the right product lands in the right store at the right time.

What You'll Own

Category & Assortment Planning
Build seasonal and regional assortment plans grounded in sales trends, forecasts, and store-level demand patterns
Plan inventory levels by category and by store, balancing depth, breadth, and working capital

Inventory & Performance




Track stock movement to identify rapid- and slow-moving lines; drive allocation and replenishment decisions accordingly
Build and maintain category performance reports with explicit, actionable recommendations — not just dashboards
Plan promotions and markdowns to protect sell-through and margin

Design-to-Buy Translation
Partner with designers to convert concepts into structured buying and production plans that are commercially viable at scale

Vendor & Cross-Functional Coordination
Identify, onboard, and manage vendor and supplier relationships, with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery reliability
Work closely with retail operations and warehouse teams to coordinate stock transfers and resolve replenishment gaps
Own quality and delivery issue resolution end-to-end with vendors

Experience Required
0–5 years in merchandising , inventory/category planning, or vendor management — fashion, ethnic wear, or retail preferred
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/INDEX-MATCH at minimum); comfort with inventory or ERP tools
Strong vendor negotiation and relationship-building instincts
Structured, detail-oriented, and unbothered by juggling multiple categories, vendors, and timelines at once
Based in Kolkata, or willing to relocate
