Position description: The role involves overseeing and managing the operations of the SMS Mechanical Hydraulics section within a leading mining and metals company. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring the effective functioning, maintenance, and safety of hydraulic systems critical to stainless steel manufacturing processes. This position requires a seasoned skilled with strong leadership capabilities, technical expertise in hydraulics, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to meet production targets and uphold quality standards in a high-demand industrial setting.

Primary Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the daily operations of the SMS Mechanical Hydraulics department to ensure optimal performance and mínimal downtime.
Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures for hydraulic systems to enhance reliability and extend equipment life.
Coordinate with engineering, production,



and safety teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex hydraulic system issues promptly.
Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to hydraulic equipment operation and maintenance.
Manage and mentor a team of technicians and engineers, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
Oversee procurement and inventory management of hydraulic components and spare parts to support uninterrupted operations.
Prepare and present regular reports on system status, maintenance activities, and project progress to senior management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving system reliability.
