Role & responsibilities
Review and underwrite U.S. Non-QM mortgage loans in accordance with investor, lender and company guidelines.
Analyze borrower income, assets, credit, liabilities and overall profile to determine loan eligibility.
Underwrite Non-QM products including DSCR, Bank Statement, Asset Depletion, P&L;/1099, Foreign National, and other alternative-income programs.
Review loan files for completeness, accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines.
Analyze complex income documentation, including bank statements, tax returns, P&L; statements, 1099s, and other supporting documents.
Identify potential risks, discrepancies, and red flags and determine appropriate conditions or resolutions.
Issue loan decisions, conditions and approvals/denials within established turnaround times.
Review and explicit conditions submitted by processors and other stakeholders.




Ensure all underwriting decisions are well documented and supported by applicable guidelines.
Communicate effectively with processors, loan officers, account managers and other internal teams to resolve loan-level issues.
Maintain robust quality and accuracy while meeting productivity and SLA/TAT expectations.
Stay updated on changes to Non-QM guidelines, investor requirements, and underwriting policies.
For SME-level candidates, provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist with complex or escalated files.
Perform QC/review of underwriting decisions when required and help identify recurring issues or training opportunities.

Preferred candidate profile
Only Candidates with hands-on experience in U.S. mortgage underwriting and Non-QM products will be considered.
