Role & responsibilities
Perform welding activities as per drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Perform MIG, TIG and Arc welding as required.
Weld and fabricate components, frames, brackets, structures, hydraulic equipment and machinery parts.
Read and understand basic engineering drawings and welding symbols.
Select the appropriate welding method, electrode, wire, gas and welding parameters.
Prepare, clean, align and fit components before welding.
Check welded joints for quality, strength and dimensional accuracy.
Identify and rectify welding defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut and incomplete penetration.
Operate and maintain welding machines and related tools safely.
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Coordinate with fitters, machinists and production team to complete jobs on time.
Ensure all fabricated components meet required quality standards.
Maintain proper use and care of welding equipment, tools and PPE.
