We are hiring a Senior Database Administrator for one of our clients. The role is suited for a hands-on DBA who can independently manage and troubleshoot business-critical database environments.
Key Requirements
Microsoft SQL Server – Mandatory
PostgreSQL – Mandatory
6+ years of hands-on experience in production database administration
Strong experience in SQL Server installation, configuration, patching and upgrades
Strong knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization
Experience with execution plans, DMVs, Query Store, wait statistics and troubleshooting
Hands-on experience with backup, recovery and point-in-time restoration
Experience with Always On Availability Groups, HA/DR, replication and failover
Strong T-SQL and database scripting skills
Experience with database monitoring, alerting and capacity management
Exposure to PowerShell / dbatools and database automation is an advantage
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Role Responsibilities
Manage and maintain SQL Server and PostgreSQL databases across production and non-production settings.
Monitor database health, performance, availability and capacity.
Troubleshoot complex issues including slow queries, blocking, deadlocks, replication and database failures.
Own backup and recovery processes and regularly validate restore readiness.
Support HA/DR environments, failover activities and disaster recovery exercises.
Work closely with application, infrastructure and engineering teams to resolve database-related issues.
Participate in production incidents, provide clear updates and prepare RCA/documentation.
Follow database security, access control and change-management practices.
Positive to Have
Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, AWS RDS, MySQL, PowerShell/dbatools, Database DevOps, CI/CD or regulated environments will be an added advantage.
