About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer III with robust experience in IBM Cognos and modern data engineering to support existing enterprise reporting while helping modernize reporting capabilities toward Databricks and cloud-based analytics.

Key Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and support IBM Cognos reports, dashboards, and Framework Manager models.
Build and optimize SQL queries for enterprise-scale data.
Develop data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and Databricks.
Build Databricks SQL dashboards and visualizations.
Support Cognos modernization and migration to modern cloud analytics platforms.
Work with data engineers, architects, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable analytics solutions.
Troubleshoot production issues and ensure data quality, performance, and reporting reliability.

Required Skills
5+ years in Software Engineering, Data Engineering, BI, or Analytics Development.
3+ years hands-on IBM Cognos experience.
Strong Cognos Framework Manager, reporting, and dashboard development experience.
Solid SQL and query optimization skills.




Robust Python with hands-on PySpark/Apache Spark experience.
Hands-on experience with Databricks / Databricks SQL.
Understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling.
Experience with Git/GitHub.
Robust communication and stakeholder management skills.

Good to Have
Experience with Cognos-to-Databricks/cloud analytics migration.
Snowflake / Delta Lake experience.
Exposure to AWS/Azure, Airflow, REST APIs, CI/CD.
Knowledge of data governance and data quality.

Key requirement: We are looking for someone who can bridge Cognos with modern Databricks-based data and analytics, not a pure Cognos or pure Databricks profile.
