Required Experience & Qualifications

Substantial hands-on experience in healthcare RCM, including claims, billing, denials, payments, accounts receivable, eligibility, authorization, or payer operations. This is the most important qualification.

Experience working directly in healthcare RCM for a provider, EHR/RCM platform, billing organization, payer, clearinghouse, healthcare services organization, or consulting/implementation firm.

Strong understanding of claim and denial workflows and the ability to investigate why a claim rejected, denied, underpaid, or required rework.

Ability to read complex payer or government guidance, identify what is and is not supported by the source, and convert validated requirements into accurate business logic.

Ability to produce explicit workflows, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and test scenarios for engineering and QA teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote U.S. work setting.

Preferred Experience

Direct experience with behavioral health, mental health, substance use disorder, community health,



or human-services billing and RCM workflows.

Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, Medicare, behavioral health carve-outs, provider enrollment, credentialing, and payer-specific authorization requirements.

Hands-on familiarity with 837 and 835 transactions, CARC/RARC codes, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, clearinghouses, and payer portals.

Experience with healthcare product development, implementation, configuration, business analysis, product operations, or customer onboarding.

Experience using AI tools for RCM research, denial analysis, requirements, or testing, including verifying AI outputs against authoritative sources, is preferred but not required.
