Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AS400/iSeries Developer with solid expertise in RPGLE, CL, SQL, and DB2 to design, develop, enhance, and maintain business applications on the IBM i platform. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support critical business operations and deliver high-quality technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using RPGLE (Free & Fixed), RPG/400, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and DB2/400.
Enhance existing AS400 applications, fix defects, and optimize system performance.
Work on current development projects including requirement gathering, analysis, coding, testing, and deployment.
Create and maintain technical documentation, program specifications, and user guides.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and other technical teams to ensure application stability.
Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
Support production settings, troubleshoot issues, and implement long-term solutions.
Integrate AS400 applications with external systems through APIs, web services,



or data interfaces.
Participate in on-call support as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications
38+ years of hands-on experience as an AS400/iSeries Developer.
Strong expertise in RPGLE (Free & Fixed Format), RPG/400, SQLRPGLE, CL/CLLE, and DB2/400.
Solid understanding of ILE concepts, service programs, modules, and binding directories.
Experience with subfiles, APIs, message handling, triggers, and stored procedures.
Ability to analyze complex system logic and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Aldon, Turnover, Git-based tools for IBM i).
Excellent debugging and performance-tuning skills.

Preferred Skills
Experience with modernization tools, REST APIs, or open-source tools on IBM i.
Knowledge of EDI, ERP modules, or integration frameworks.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Exposure to DevOps pipelines on IBM i (optional).
