Job DescriptionROLE SUMMARY
nShahbaz & Associates, CPAs is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing practice. In this role, you will lead client engagements across accounting, assurance, and tax, prepare and review financial statements, and serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse portfolio of clients. You will also mentor junior staff and help uphold the technical quality and professional standards that define our firm.
nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- n
- Prepare and review financial statements, working papers, and supporting schedules in accordance with U.S. GAAP.n
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for multiple clients.n
- Support and execute compilation, review, and audit engagements from planning through completion.n
- Maintain general ledgers, fixed asset schedules, and bookkeeping for client accounts.n
- Advise clients on accounting treatment, internal controls, tax planning, and regulatory compliance.n




- Correspond with tax authorities and support responses to notices, examinations, and audits.n
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of staff accountants and interns.n
- Monitor engagement budgets, timelines, and client deliverables to ensure quality and profitability.n
- Stay current on changes in accounting standards, tax law, and firm methodology.n

nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- n
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.n
- 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in public accounting.n
- Solid working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and current federal and state tax regulations.n
- Proven experience preparing and reviewing financial statements.n

nTECHNICAL & SOFT SKILLS

- Proficiency with accounting and tax software (e.g., QuickBooks and CCH Axcess).n
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; comfort with paperless workflow tools.n
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving
