Role & responsibilities
Independently manage all Health, Safety and Setting (HSE) activities at the project site.
Implement project-specific safety plans, procedures, risk assessments and safety requirements.
Conduct JSA/JHA, Risk Assessment and Method Statement safety reviews before commencement of activities.
Monitor high-risk activities including working at height, slope/rock-face work, drilling, piling, lifting operations, shotcrete, grouting and excavation.
Ensure proper use of PPE, safety harnesses, lifelines, barricading, access systems and fall-protection arrangements.
Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety briefings and worker inductions.
Inspect scaffolding, platforms, ladders, lifting equipment, machinery and other safety- critical arrangements.
Maintain safety registers, inspection reports, training records and incident/near-miss records.
Conduct regular site safety inspections and immediately address unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors and client safety representatives.
Ensure emergency preparedness, rescue arrangements and first-aid facilities.
Investigate accidents/incidents and prepare corrective and preventive action reports.
Ensure compliance with applicable statutory safety requirements and client-specific HSE procedures.
Candidate must be capable of handling safety requirements in confined, steep, hazardous and difficult-access zones, including mining-type working conditions.
Preferred candidate profile
Candidates with experience in mines, steel plants, hydro projects, tunnelling, slope stabilisation or other high-risk infrastructure projects will be given preference.
