About the Role Relationships Australia Northern Territory (RA-NT) is seeking a passionate and skilled Children’s Counsellor / Group Facilitator to support children and families. In this role, you’ll deliver trauma-informed counselling and therapeutic group programs for children—particularly those impacted by domestic and family violence. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in helping children and families heal, build resilience, and strengthen relationships. What will you be doing: Deliver culturally responsive counselling to children and families (onsite and outreach). Facilitate therapeutic group programs for children. Support whole-of-family interventions, including parents and kinship carers. Manage complex cases using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches. Assess client needs and tailor therapeutic responses. Advocate for children and families and connect them with appropriate supports.



Maintain accurate case notes and comply with professional and legal standards Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders. To be successful, you will bring: Relevant qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or Counselling and demonstrated eligibility for or current membership of the relevant qualified body or registration with AHPRA. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of counselling services to children using a whole-of-family approach on issues including complex trauma, grief and loss, and behavioural difficulties. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed practice including theories of child development, trauma and attachment theory.
