Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior NPD Engineer with deep expertise in Engineering Design and a proven track record in New Product Development (NPD). The ideal candidate must have a specialized, expert-level understanding of Sheet Metal Design and Fabrication. You will lead the product development lifecycle from concept to mass production, ensuring high-quality, precise, and cost-effective mechanical designs. Job Requirements & Qualifications Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university. Experience: Minimum 8+ years of core experience in Engineering Design and New Product Development (NPD). Mandatory Technical Expertise (Sheet Metal):- Deep, advanced knowledge of Sheet Metal engineering, including stamping, bending, punching, laser cutting, welding, and progressive die/tooling feasibility.- Robust mastery over Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) rules specific to sheet metal to minimize material scrap and manufacturing costs.- Selection of right sheet metal materials (CRCA, Stainless Steel, Aluminum) and surface finishes (Powder coating, Plating, Anodizing). Software Skills: Hands-on mastery in 3D CAD software, specifically SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA (Expertise in Sheet Metal modules is mandatory). Other Technical Knowledge:- GD&T; Expertise:



Deep knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) tailored for sheet metal fabrications.- Manufacturing Processes: Basic to good understanding of other processes like Plastics/Injection Molding, Casting, or Machining.- Standards: Thorough familiarity with international engineering standards, such as ISO and ASME.Key Responsibilities & Duties Sheet Metal Design: Design and develop exact sheet metal components, enclosures, structures, and assemblies from scratch. Product Design & Development: Execute end-to-end NPD processes, including conceptualization, 3D modeling, detailed 2D manufacturing drawings, prototyping, and testing. Tolerance & Analysis: Perform mechanical calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and structural evaluations to ensure assembly fitment. Vendor & Shopfloor Coordination: Work closely with tool rooms, sheet metal fabrication vendors, and assembly teams to resolve on-site engineering issues. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOM), engineering change notes (ECN), and DFMEA
