About Sankar Group Sankar Group is a growing business group building and operating businesses across multiple sectors. We are looking for a highly proactive and communication-driven Media & Public Relations Coordinator to build visibility for the Group, its companies, brands, leadership, and key business initiatives.

This is not a traditional desk-only PR role.

We are looking for someone who can find stories, build media relationships, create opportunities, coordinate interviews, manage PR activities, and take ownership of the Group's public visibility.

About the Role As the Media & Public Relations Coordinator, you will work closely with the leadership team to develop and execute PR initiatives across Sankar Group and its portfolio of companies.

Your objective will be to continuously create opportunities for:

Media Coverage → Founder Visibility → Brand Awareness → Industry Credibility → Business Growth

You will be expected to actively identify newsworthy stories and convert them into media opportunities across newspapers, digital publications, business media, television, podcasts, YouTube channels, events, and other relevant platforms.

Key Responsibilities1.

Media

Relations

- Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, reporters, editors, media houses, publications, and digital media platforms.
- Research and maintain a structured database of relevant media contacts.
- Identify journalists and publications relevant to each Sankar Group business.
- Regularly communicate company updates and stories to relevant media contacts.
- Coordinate media interactions, interviews, calls, and meetings.
- Develop long-term relationships rather than focusing only on individual media placements.

2. PR & Media Coverage
- Identify PR opportunities for Sankar Group and its companies.
- Develop story ideas around business launches, achievements, expansion, partnerships, investments, milestones, technology, entrepreneurship, and industry developments.
- Prepare press releases, media notes, founder profiles, company announcements, and media pitches.
- Pitch stories to relevant journalists and publications.
- Follow up professionally with media contacts.
- Track published articles, interviews, mentions, videos, and other media coverage.

3. Founder & Leadership PR Work closely with the leadership team to increase the public visibility and credibility of the Group's leadership.

You should actively look for opportunities where the leadership team can contribute meaningful opinions and insights to the media.




- Group & Brand PR Understand each business under Sankar Group and identify the unique stories that can be communicated to the market.

For every company/brand, you should be able to answer:

- What is the company doing?
- Why does it matter?
- What problem is it solving?
- What makes it different?
- What is the growth story?
- What is the founder's vision?
- What can become a media story?

Convert these answers into PR opportunities.
- Content & Communication Coordinate with internal teams to collect information required for PR.

Create and coordinate

- Press releases
- Media pitches
- Company announcements
- Founder bios
- Interview briefs
- Media FAQs
- Company profiles
- Talking points
- Event announcements
- PR presentations
- Media kits

Ensure all communication is accurate, professional, and aligned with the Group's positioning.
- Events & Media Coordination
- Identify relevant industry events and conferences.
- Coordinate media invitations for company events.
- Support leadership participation in conferences and panels.
- Coordinate interviews and media interactions during events.
- Build relationships with event organizers and industry associations.

7. Social Media & PR Integration Work closely with the social media and marketing teams so that media coverage creates maximum visibility.

For example

Media Article → LinkedIn Post → Founder Post → Company Social Media → Website → Sales/Business Communication

Help convert PR coverage into long-term brand assets.

- PR Monitoring & Reporting Maintain a regular PR tracker covering:

- Media pitches sent
- Journalists contacted
- Responses received
- Interviews scheduled
- Articles published
- Podcasts completed
- TV appearances
- Digital coverage
- Social media mentions
- Founder visibility
- Estimated reach
- PR opportunities in pipeline

Prepare weekly/monthly PR reports for leadership.

Candidate ProfileEducation

- Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
- Freshers with strong communication and execution abilities may also apply.
- Candidates with PR, media, journalism, communications, marketing, or startup experience will have an advantage.
