The Marketing Head is responsible for planning and executing marketing strategies to increase devotee engagement, promote temple events and religious activities, strengthen the temples digital presence, and build long-term relationships with devotees, donors, volunteers, and corporate partners. The role focuses on enhancing the temples visibility while preserving its spiritual values.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing & Branding
Develop annual marketing and branding strategies for the temple.
Plan promotional campaigns for festivals, utsavams, homams, sevas, annadanam, and special events.
Maintain a consistent temple brand across all communication channels.
Design and execute awareness campaigns to increase devotee participation.
Digital Marketing
Manage the temple’s website and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, etc.).
Plan and publish daily content, reels, festival updates, and live-stream promotions.
Run Meta (Facebook & Instagram) and Google advertising campaigns.
Monitor digital performance and improve online engagement.
Devotee & Donor Engagement
Develop campaigns to encourage donations, annadanam sponsorships, and seva bookings.
Build relationships with devotees, donors, and volunteers.
- Coordinate email, SMS, and WhatsApp communication for temple activities.
Events & Public Relations
Promote temple festivals and cultural programmes.
Coordinate with media, photographers, videographers, and event partners.
- Represent the temple during promotional and community outreach activities.
Team Management
Lead and supervise the marketing team, designers, content creators, photographers, and vendors.
Assign responsibilities and monitor project completion.
- Conduct regular performance reviews.
Reporting
Prepare monthly reports on campaign performance, devotee engagement, social media growth, event participation, and marketing expenditure.
Present marketing plans and progress reports to the management.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Public Relations, or a related field.
MBA in Marketing is preferred.
- Certifications in Digital Marketing, Meta Ads, Google Ads, SEO, or Google Analytics are an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum 5–8 years of marketing experience.
At least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
Experience in digital marketing, event management, branding, and public relations.
Experience working with temples, religious institutions, NGOs, trusts, hospitality, or event organizations is preferred.
Skills Required
Leadership and team management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of digital marketing, Meta Ads, Google Ads, SEO, and analytics.
Event planning and execution.
Content planning and social media management.
Budget management and vendor coordination.
Creative thinking and problem-solving.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canva, and digital marketing tools.

Growth in devotee footfall.

Website traffic and online enquiries.
Successful execution of temple festivals and events.
