We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong Manager – Statutory Audit to join our Finance team and drive the statutory audit process across the organization.
Role Overview The Manager – Statutory Audit will be responsible for managing and coordinating statutory audit activities, ensuring timely closure of audits, compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and effective coordination with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
The role will involve working closely with the Finance, Tax, Business, and controllership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely resolution of audit observations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the statutory audit process for the company and its relevant subsidiaries/entities.
- Act as the key point of contact for external statutory auditors and coordinate audit requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
- Prepare and review audit schedules, supporting documentation, financial statements, and audit confirmations.
- Ensure compliance with Indian Accounting Standards (Ind AS), Companies Act, 2013, and other applicable statutory/regulatory requirements.
- Review significant accounting matters, provisions, accruals, revenue recognition, fixed assets, leases, employee benefits, and other key financial statement areas.
- Coordinate with internal Finance and business teams to ensure timely closure of audit queries and observations.
- Track audit requests, pending items, open issues, and ensure timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
- Support preparation and review of financial statements, notes to accounts, disclosures, and related schedules.
- Assist in identifying accounting, reporting, and process risks and recommend appropriate controls or corrective actions.
- Coordinate with Tax, Legal, Internal Audit, FP&A;, and other cross-functional teams on matters impacting statutory audit.
- Support the evaluation and implementation of changes in Ind AS, Companies Act, SEBI/regulatory requirements, and other applicable regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement in audit readiness, documentation, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes.
- Assist in special projects and ad-hoc finance assignments as required.
Candidate Profile
- CA with approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience in statutory audit, financial reporting, or controllership.
- Candidates with experience in Big 4 / large audit firms or a large corporate finance environment will be preferred.
- Strong understanding of Ind AS and statutory audit processes.
- Good knowledge of the Companies Act, 2013 and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in handling external auditors and managing audit deliverables independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good understanding of accounting processes, reconciliations, and financial statements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work in a rapid-paced, high-growth environment and manage multiple priorities.
