: Lecturer – Civil Engineering

Employment Type: Full time, Permanent

Job Purpose To deliver quality technical education in Civil Engineering, develop students' theoretical and practical competencies, and contribute to the academic, research, and infrastructural growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Instruction

- Deliver lectures, tutorials, and lab/field sessions on subjects such as Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Concrete Technology, Surveying, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Hydraulics & Water Resources Engineering, Building Construction, and Estimation & Costing
- Prepare lesson plans, course outlines, and instructional materials aligned with curriculum requirements
- Conduct practical/lab classes (Surveying lab, Concrete/Material Testing lab, CAD lab, etc.) and site visits/field training
- Use drawing tools, design software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, Revit, etc.), and e-learning platforms to enhance teaching

Assessment & Evaluation

- Design and conduct internal assessments, assignments, drawing sheets, and examinations
- Evaluate practical work, design projects, and lab records fairly and promptly
- Maintain accurate academic records and student performance data
- Provide constructive feedback for improvement

Student Mentorship

- Guide students on academic matters, career paths, and skill enhancement
- Supervise minor/major projects, industrial training, and internships
- Encourage participation in technical fests, design competitions, and workshops
- Act as mentor/counselor for assigned student groups

Curriculum & Academic Development

- Contribute to curriculum design, review, and updates based on industry standards (IS codes, BIS, construction practices)




- Stay updated with emerging technologies (BIM, sustainable construction, smart materials) and incorporate them into teaching
- Participate in Board of Studies meetings and academic committees
- Develop question banks, e-content, and study/design materials

Administrative & Institutional Duties

- Maintain classroom/lab discipline and safety standards
- Attend faculty meetings, workshops, and training programs
- Support departmental activities, accreditation processes (NBA/NAAC), and audits
- Perform invigilation and examination-related duties
- Coordinate site visits, industrial tours, and guest lectures from industry experts

Research & Professional Development (if applicable)

- Publish research papers in journals/conferences
- Guide student research and design projects
- Pursue continuous professional development (certifications, FDPs, workshops on current construction technologies/codes)

Required Qualifications

- Master's degree (M.Tech/M.E.) in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering may suffice for some diploma/polytechnic institutions

Experience

- Fresh graduates to 2+ years for Junior Lecturer
- 2–5+ years of teachingexperience for Senior Lecturer roles

Skills & Competencies

- Strong subject knowledge in structural design, construction materials, and surveying
- Proficiency in design/drafting software (AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, ETABS, Revit)
- Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills
- Practical/field experience in construction, surveying, or site supervision is an added advantage
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and adaptability
- Good interpersonal skills for student mentoring

Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
