About Genix.aiGenix.ai is pioneering population-adapted genomic foundation models and multi-modal clinical AI applications to transform precision medicine. We are building scalable genomic data pipelines, biobanking IT frameworks, and regulated enterprise platforms. We are seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer who can drive technical execution across our foundational model pipelines and effectively lead high-stakes technical meetings with clinical and enterprise clients.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Engineering
- Drive the architecture, implementation, and execution of our genomic foundation model pipeline (extending pretraining of models like Evo 2 on multi-ancestry data).
- Oversee multi-environment setups, ensuring a clean separation between inference stacks (vortex, evo2) and training infrastructure (NVIDIA BioNeMo / NeMo containers).
- Build robust evaluation harnesses, cross-ancestry calibration baselines, and data ingestion workflows for population datasets (e.g., ClinVar, gnomAD, MaveDB).
- Ensure strict compliance with data engineering contracts, import-tier boundaries, run-manifest logging, and regulatory standards (such as HIPAA compliance requirements).
- Client & Partner Engagement
- Lead technical discussions, presentations, and design reviews with external clients, clinical partners, and research collaborators.
- Translate complex genomic AI methodologies, model validation metrics,
and validation results (such as Gate A and Gate B performance metrics) into transparent, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Align technical project milestones, deployment strategies, and data frameworks with client expectations and strategic partnership goals.
Requirements
- Technical Background: Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Genomic Data & ML Experience: Strong proficiency in handling large-scale biological datasets (VCFs, BAM/CRAM files, genomic foundations models) and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, NeMo/BioNeMo).
- Software Engineering Rigor: Deep commitment to production-grade engineering practices, strict version control, automated testing, containerized environments (Docker/Singularity), and reproducible workflows.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven experience conducting technical meetings, managing client relationships, and presenting complex data science concepts to diverse audiences.
