Position Summary

We are seeking an HV Engineering Manager to support and execute HV design activities for utility-scale solar and hybrid (PV + BESS) projects in the United States. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, code-compliant, and technically robust HV engineering designs while working under the guidance of a Lead Engineer or Engineering Manager.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on design experience,



understands US grid requirements, and can independently handle assigned HV engineering packages.

Key Responsibilities

HV Design & Engineering Execution

- Develop and review high-voltage system designs for solar and hybrid projects.
- Prepare and update key deliverables including:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Substation layouts
- Protection & control schematics
- Bus Bar/Conductor Sizing, Short circuit force, Sag & tension, DSLP & Earthing Calculation
- Instrument Transformers Sizing; Battery & charger sizing calculation
- Support collector system and POI interconnection design.
- Vendor drawings review & approval for major substation equipment such as MPT, HV & MV breakers, Disconnector switches, CT/VT, Post insulators etc.

Engineering Studies & Technical Analysis

- Perform and interpret power system studies such as:
- Load flow analysis
- Short-circuit calculations
- Protection coordination
- Grounding & lightning analysis
- Insulation Coordination & TOV studies
- Incorporate study results into detailed HV design packages

Codes, Standards & Compliance

- Ensure designs comply with applicable US codes and standards (IEEE, NEC, NESC, utility requirements).




- Assist in responding to utility and EPC/EOR design comments.

Coordination & Collaboration

- Coordinate with DC engineering, civil, SCADA, and project teams to ensure design integration.
- Participate in technical meetings with utilities, EPC/EORs and vendors.
- Review vendor submittals and provide technical comments in coordination with the Lead Engineer.

Construction & Execution Support

- Provide engineering clarifications during construction.
- Respond to RFIs and assist in resolving site technical issues.
- Support commissioning documentation and as-built updates.

Qualifications

- BTech in Electrical Engineering.

Experience & Technical Skills

- 5–8 years of experience in high voltage electrical engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in HV design for utility-scale solar, hybrid, or any other form of power generation projects.
- Strong understanding of:
- Substation design concepts (AIS/GIS)
- Protection and control fundamentals
- Grid interconnection principles
- Experience with US-based projects will be added advantage.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, PSS®E or similar software.
