Role Description: The Human Resources Manager at Protectol Healthcare is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, India. This position is responsible for leading the overall HR function, driving talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, employee engagement, compensation & benefits, employee relations, statutory compliance, and organizational development. Partner with senior management to align HR strategy with business objectives and support business growth, transformation, and workforce effectiveness, preferably within the Pharma, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Medical Devices, or FMCG sector.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to build a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the overall HR strategy in alignment with the organization's business objectives and long-term growth plans.
- Act as a strategic HR business partner to senior management and department heads on organizational and people-related matters.
- Lead the overall HR function and provide direction to the HR team across recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation, and HR operations.
- Develop long-term workforce strategies, manpower plans, succession plans, and talent pipelines aligned with business expansion.
- Lead senior-level and critical talent acquisition initiatives across corporate, sales, operations, manufacturing, and support functions.
- Establish effective talent management and retention strategies for key and high-performing employees.
- Drive organizational restructuring, workforce optimization, change management, and HR transformation initiatives when required.
- Establish and oversee a robust performance management framework, including KPIs, KRAs, goal setting, performance reviews, and development plans.
- Develop and implement leadership development, succession planning, and career progression frameworks.
- Lead employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives to strengthen employee commitment and retention.
- Provide strategic guidance on complex employee relations matters, grievances, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and workplace issues.
- Oversee compensation and benefits strategy, including salary structures, benchmarking, annual increments, incentives, and benefits programs.
- Ensure the organization's compensation practices remain competitive, equitable, and aligned with market standards.
- Establish and maintain HR policies, processes, and governance frameworks in line with business requirements and applicable laws.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian labour laws and statutory requirements, including PF, ESI, Gratuity, Shops & Establishments Act, and other relevant regulations.
- Partner with management on workforce cost optimization, productivity improvement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Establish HR metrics and dashboards to monitor workforce trends, employee turnover, recruitment effectiveness, absenteeism, manpower costs, and employee engagement.
- Present strategic HR reports, workforce analytics, and recommendations to senior management.
- Identify organizational capability gaps and lead initiatives to strengthen workforce competencies.
- Oversee learning and development strategies, including leadership development, technical training, behavioral development, and competency-building programs.
- Build a strong performance-oriented and employee-focused organizational culture.
- Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and best practices across departments and locations.
- Mentor, develop, and build the capability of the HR team.
- Provide leadership during organizational changes, business expansion, restructuring, and other strategic initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment while handling sensitive employee and organizational matters.
Requirements
- MBA in Human Resources / Human Resource Management is mandatory.
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- 15–20 years of progressive HR experience, with significant experience in senior HR management roles.
- Solid experience in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Life Sciences, Medical Devices, or FMCG industry is required.
- Proven experience in independently leading and managing the overall HR function.
- Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, statutory compliance, and HR governance.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic HR planning, organizational development, talent management, and workforce planning.
- Proven track record of managing senior stakeholders and partnering with business leadership.
- Experience in leading and developing HR teams.
- Strong exposure to compensation strategy, performance management, succession planning, employee engagement, and organizational transformation.
- Experience in managing HR for multiple departments, business functions, or locations will be an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in HRMS/HRIS, HR analytics, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Profile
- Candidates with extensive experience in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Medical Devices, Nutraceutical, Consumer Healthcare, or FMCG organizations will be preferred.
- Candidates who have worked in organizations undergoing significant growth, expansion, restructuring, or transformation will be preferred.
- Experience working directly with CEOs, Directors, senior management, and business leadership teams is highly desirable.
- Strong commercial understanding and the ability to connect HR strategy with business performance will be an advantage.
- Experience managing large and diverse workforces across multiple functions or locations will be preferred.
