Job Title: Grants and Compliance Manager / Officer

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Grants and Compliance Manager / Officer to oversee the complete lifecycle of our grant funding and government scheme participation. This role bridges the gap between accounting and legal compliance, ensuring that all restricted funds are accurately tracked, utilized, and reported according to stringent government and donor regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background, deep knowledge of government schemes, and a proven track record of flawless audit preparation.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grant & Scheme Management
- Continuously research and identify relevant local, state, and central government schemes, subsidies, and institutional grants aligned with the organization’s objectives.
- Lead the end-to-end application process, coordinating with internal teams to gather necessary programmatic and financial data.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for funding agencies, managing portals like the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) or equivalent platforms.
2. Financial Tracking & Accounting
- Set up and manage separate cost centers and ledgers for all restricted and unrestricted grant funds.
- Monitor daily budget-versus-actual expenditures to ensure funds are utilized strictly according to the approved grant guidelines.
- Reconcile grant bank accounts and work closely with the core accounting team to integrate grant financials into the organization's main books.
3. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure absolute adherence to all statutory, legal,
and donor-specific compliance requirements (e.g., tax deductions, procurement rules).
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely financial reports, including mandatory Utilization Certificates (UCs) and progress reports to funding bodies.
- Actively monitor upcoming deadlines for renewals, reporting, and fund disbursement tranches.
4. Audit & Risk Management
- Prepare schedules, necessary documentation, and financial statements specifically for internal, external, and donor/government audits.
- Identify potential financial or compliance risks early and propose corrective actions (e.g., seeking formal extensions or budget reallocations before deadlines).
- Maintain an organized, audit-ready digital and physical filing system for all grant contracts, approvals, and expenditure proofs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. (CA Inter / ICWA is a strong plus).
- Experience: Minimum [X, e.g., 3-5] years of experience in financial management, grant accounting, or compliance, preferably interacting with government funds.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in standard accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books) and advanced MS Excel.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of government funding portals, tax compliance, and the legal frameworks surrounding restricted funds.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
