# Java Microservices Backend Developer
### Job Title
Java Microservices Backend Developer
### Experience
5–10 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development and Microservices architecture.
### Role Overview
We are looking for a strong Java Backend Developer with hands-on experience building and supporting enterprise-grade Microservices applications.
The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Kafka, JMS, Oracle Database, OpenAPI, Docker, and Cloud deployments. The candidate will work closely with architects and other engineering teams to design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy scalable backend services.
This role requires someone who can independently develop production-ready Microservices, understand distributed systems, troubleshoot issues, and follow modern software engineering practices.
### Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Java-based Microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
- Develop scalable and secure RESTful APIs for enterprise applications.
- Design and maintain API contracts using OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Implement event-driven communication using Apache Kafka.
- Develop asynchronous messaging solutions using JMS/message brokers.
- Design database solutions and develop efficient SQL queries using Oracle Database.
- Implement proper transaction management, exception handling, validation, logging, and monitoring.
- Containerize applications using Docker.
- Deploy and support Microservices in Cloud environments.
- Work with DevOps teams for CI/CD, container deployment, configuration, and production releases.
- Implement service-to-service communication and integration with external systems.
- Analyze application performance and resolve scalability and production issues.
- Write clean, maintainable, testable, and production-grade code.
- Develop unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
- Follow Microservices design principles, SOLID principles, design patterns, and enterprise coding standards.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product Owners, QA, DevOps,
and other development teams.
- Participate in technical discussions, solution design, estimation, and implementation.

### Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a hands-on backend engineer, not only a framework developer.
- Can independently take a requirement from design → development → testing → deployment.
- Has experience building production-grade Microservices.
- Understands distributed-system challenges such as retries, timeouts, failures, idempotency, consistency, and scalability.
- Can troubleshoot complex production issues.
- Has good understanding of API and event-driven architecture.
- Writes clean, maintainable, and testable code.
- Can work effectively with architects and cross-functional teams.
- Has strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
### Preferred Experience
5–10 years of overall software development experience with at least 3 years of hands-on Microservices development using Java and Spring Boot.
