Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Fire Fighting Design Engineer based in or near Malappuram, India.

The Fire Fighting Design

Engineer will be responsible for developing fire protection system designs for commercial, residential, and industrial projects, including sprinkler systems, hydrant networks, pump rooms, and related mechanical and electrical components. Daily tasks include performing hydraulic calculations, preparing detailed CAD drawings, coordinating with architectural and MEP teams, and ensuring designs comply with local codes, NFPA standards, and client specifications. The role involves preparing technical reports, bills of quantities, and design documentation, participating in design reviews, and supporting project teams during tendering and execution.



The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, respond to technical queries, and contribute to continuous improvement of fire safety design practices.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering skills with specific experience in fire fighting and fire protection system design.
- Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering expertise related to piping, pumps, water supply systems, and HVAC integration for fire safety.
- Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for preparing detailed layouts, schematics, and construction documentation.
- Candidates should possess understanding of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to fire alarm systems, control panels, and power supplies.
- Candidates should possess Product Design or system configuration skills for selecting and integrating fire protection equipment and components.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards and codes (e.g., NFPA, local fire codes, building regulations) is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate with international teams.
- Experience with hydraulic calculation software, BIM tools, or MEP coordination is an advantage.
