Role Summary
We are looking for a Manager – Finance & Accounts to own day-to-day financial operations and strengthen financial discipline as the company scales. This role is critical for a business that works extensively with government and institutional clients, involves long project cycles, statutory compliance, and vendor/procurement-heavy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and monthly/quarterly closing of books
- Own statutory compliance — GST, TDS, PF/ESI, income tax filings, and related returns; ensure accurate deduction and timely deposit (including correct application of sections such as 194-I)
- Reconcile vendor and client ledgers, including recurring vendor accounts (e.g., co-working/office space, equipment, subcontractors)
- Manage accounts receivable for government and institutional billing cycles — invoicing, milestone billing, retention tracking, and follow-up on payments from government/municipal clients
- Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, and procurement-linked cash flow planning in coordination with the procurement team
- Prepare MIS reports, cash flow statements, and budget vs. actual tracking for management and investor reporting
- Support fundraising-related financial workstreams — data room preparation, financial statements, and investor query resolution
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and company secretary for statutory and internal audits
- Maintain project-wise costing and profitability tracking across tenders and ongoing contracts
- Identify and correct compliance/process gaps (e.g., TDS decimal or rate errors) proactively, and put controls in place to prevent recurrence
- Support contract and MOU review from a commercial/financial terms perspective
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting; CA (Inter or Qualified), CMA, or MBA Finance preferred
- 5–8 years of relevant experience, ideally including exposure to government/institutional billing, manufacturing/hardware, or infrastructure businesses
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, and Indian statutory compliance
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally/Zoho Books or equivalent) and advanced Excel
Key Skills
- Strong attention to detail and reconciliation discipline
- Comfortable working with long payment cycles typical of government contracts
- Clear communicator who can explain financial matters to non-finance stakeholders (founders, engineering, procurement)
- Process-oriented, with the ability to build controls in a fast-growing, still-informal environment
What We Offer
- Ownership of finance function in a growing hardware/IoT company with a clear scale-up trajectory
- Direct exposure to fundraising, government tenders, and cross-border vendor relationships
- Compensation: INR 10,00,000 per annum
