Company Description Indian Grameen Services (IGS) is a Section 8 not-for-profit company that designs and implements innovative solutions to address urgent livelihood challenges in rural and forested communities across India. Role Description The Field Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in Tamia, focused on supporting sustainable livelihood initiatives in rural and forest communities.
Responsibilities include engaging directly with community members, conducting field visits and surveys, and facilitating implementation of livelihood programs and interventions. The role involves coordinating with local partners, monitoring project activities, collecting and maintaining accurate data, and preparing concise reports and updates for project teams.
The Field
Executive will also help organize trainings and meetings,
provide on-the-ground feedback to improve program design, and ensure transparent communication between community stakeholders and IGS.
Qualifications
- Robust field engagement skills, including community outreach, relationship-building with local stakeholders, and facilitation of group meetings and trainings.
- Ability to conduct basic surveys and data collection, maintain records, and support monitoring and evaluation activities in field settings.
- Effective communication skills in English and local/regional languages, with the ability to explain concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- Basic project coordination skills, including planning field visits, managing time and resources, and reporting progress to supervisors.
- Commitment to working with rural and marginalized communities, with sensitivity to diverse cultures, genders, and backgrounds.
- Ability to travel within the region, work in rural and forested areas, and adapt to dynamic field conditions.
- Minimum educational qualification such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in social sciences, rural development, agriculture, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Prior experience in community development, livelihoods, or NGO work is an advantage.
