Role Description The Fabrication Engineer, Production role is a full-time, on-site position based in Rourkela IDC Kalunga . The role involves supervising fabrication activities for heavy structures, conveyor systems, piping, and related components, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.

The engineer will review drawings, plan fabrication sequences, allocate resources, and coordinate with welders, fitters, and machinists on the shop floor. Daily responsibilities include monitoring welding and machining operations,



conducting inspections, resolving technical issues, and maintaining records of production, materials, and quality checks. The role also requires collaboration with project and quality teams to ensure adherence to safety practices, timely delivery, and continuous improvement in fabrication processes.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Hands-on experience in Welding and Machining processes, including supervision of shop-floor fabrication activities.
- Knowledge of Quality Control practices, including inspection methods, documentation, and adherence to ISO standards.
- Project Management skills to plan work schedules, allocate resources, track progress, and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with experience in heavy fabrication or industrial manufacturing.
- Understanding of safety regulations and best practices in fabrication and production environments.
- Effective communication and team collaboration skills, with the ability to guide and support production staff.
- Experience in fabrication of structural steel, piping systems, or industrial equipment will be an added advantage.
