Indus International University (IIU) is looking for a Director — a full time, campus-based leadership role representing the University's sponsoring body, reporting directly to the Chancellor.

nThis is not an academic or registrar-facing role. You will not run curriculum (that stays with the Vice Chancellor) or administrative records (that stays with the Registrar) — you will own everything that sits above and around them: regulatory compliance, institutional growth, and the University's standing as a properly-run, properly-regulated institution in India's higher education landscape.

nWhat you'll own:

- Full regulatory compliance accountability — UGC norms, HPPERC (Himachal Pradesh Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Commission) requirements, AISHE reporting, and all applicable central/state higher-education regulations

- Driving significant, sustained growth in student enrolment across IIU's programmes
n
- Leading NAAC accreditation readiness and steering the institution toward accreditation as it becomes available
n
- Acting as the sponsoring body's on-campus representative,



coordinating closely with the Vice Chancellor and Registrar through a joint Restructuring Steering Committee — without intruding into their respective academic or administrative mandates

- Representing IIU externally with regulators, government bodies, and the broader higher-education ecosystem

nWho we're looking for:

n

n
- Minimum Registrar-level or Principal-level (or above) experience in a private university or private college setting in India — you need to have actually run, or helped run, a higher-ed institution to understand the full macro picture, not just a functional slice of it
n
- Deep, current working knowledge of how Indian higher education actually operates — UGC, State Private University Acts, HPPERC-equivalent state commissions, AISHE, NAAC

- A track record of scaling enrolment and revenue at a private university or higher-ed institution in India
n
- Street-smart and politically fluent in how things get done in Indian higher ed — while operating strictly and visibly within the law
n
- Strong stakeholder instincts — able to work alongside a Vice Chancellor and Registrar as a peer
n
- PhD preferred (Management or related discipline)
n
- Willingness to be based full-time on campus in Una, Himachal Pradesh
