About The Role

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to join our client’s dynamic team on a full-time basis. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals seeking a balanced and flexible work environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to develop and optimize manufacturing designs using FreeCAD, focusing on precision components essential for industrial applications.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in translating complex technical specifications into detailed 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring seamless transition from design to production.

This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes.

The Design

Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and engineering, to ensure that designs are feasible, cost-effective,

Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience, including proficiency in FreeCAD for 3D modeling and parametric design. A solid understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes is essential. Candidates should be adept at interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications, with a good grasp of GD&T; standards to ensure precise communication of design intent.

Familiarity with CAD file formats and experience in data exchange between different CAD systems will be advantageous. A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

- Design and model mechanical components using FreeCAD for manufacturing applications, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review designs, address potential challenges, and ensure manufacturability.
- Modify and improve existing designs based on feedback from production and engineering teams to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation,



including detailed drawings, assembly instructions, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Conduct design reviews to identify potential manufacturing issues and propose effective solutions to mitigate risks.
- Maintain version control and organize design files to ensure consistency and easy access across teams.
- Stay updated with industry standards, new design tools, and best practices to continuously improve design quality.
