About The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst / Data Engineer Intern to join our Product & Technology team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining robust data pipelines, developing operational dashboards, and supporting data-driven workflows that facilitate better decision-making across various departments. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with production data systems, cloud-based databases, and internal tools using frameworks like Frappe/ERPNext.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions that improve data accuracy and operational efficiency.
Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, particularly in data management and analytics. Proficiency in SQL and Python is essential, along with a good understanding of relational databases and data modeling concepts. Familiarity with ETL/ELT pipelines, scheduled data jobs, and API integrations will be highly valued.
Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail,
and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Prior experience with Frappe Framework, ERPNext, or cloud databases like AWS RDS or Redshift is a plus. A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently on technical projects are important traits for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize data pipelines across multiple sources including AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, application databases, APIs, and internal systems such as Google Sheets.
- Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting purposes.
- Develop Python scripts to automate ETL/ELT workflows, perform data validation, and handle data transformations.
- Monitor and troubleshoot scheduled data workflows, identify pipeline failures, and resolve data quality issues such as duplicates or schema mismatches.
- Implement data validation and reconciliation checks to ensure data integrity between source systems and dashboards.
- Work with APIs and JSON payloads to facilitate seamless data exchange between different applications.
- Create comprehensive documentation for data sources, schemas, transformations, and dependencies to ensure transparency and maintainability.
- Design and maintain operational dashboards and internal tools using Frappe Framework / ERPNext, translating business requirements into functional components.
- Connect Frappe applications with databases, APIs, and internal data pipelines to support real-time data visualization and reporting.
- Debug data discrepancies, enhance dashboard usability, and improve data refresh rates to ensure timely insights.
- Support frontend customization using JavaScript, HTML, CSS,
and Frappe scripting languages as needed.
- Utilize tools such as Postman for API testing, debugging, and validation of integrations.
- Perform quality assurance checks on product releases, ensuring data accuracy and system stability.
- Assist in workflow automation and optimize internal processes using AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or similar LLMs for coding, documentation, and troubleshooting.
- Prepare technical documentation, data dictionaries, SOPs, and implementation notes to facilitate team understanding and onboarding.
- Quickly adapt to new systems and collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to meet project objectives.
