About The Role HCLSoftware is seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer to join its Office of the CISO team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, deploying, and maintaining security controls that safeguard our enterprise and cloud environments.

This is a hands-on, builder-focused position that emphasizes configuration, coding, and integration over documentation. You will own security platforms end-to-end, from initial design and deployment to ongoing tuning, automation, and operational health management. Collaborating closely with Security Operations Center (SOC), Vulnerability Management, IT, and cloud engineering teams, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture of HCLSoftware.

Your work will directly contribute to creating a more resilient and secure infrastructure, ensuring that security controls are effectively integrated and operationally optimized.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or related roles with a strong hands-on background. Demonstrated ownership of at least two enterprise security platforms, including deployment, tuning, and operational management, is essential.

Candidates should have robust cloud security engineering experience with major providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including familiarity with native security services and policy enforcement mechanisms. Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages like Python, PowerShell, or Go, along with experience working with vendor APIs, is required. A solid understanding of operating system internals, networking principles,



and identity protocols such as SAML, OIDC, and OAuth is necessary.

Experience with infrastructure as code and version-controlled configuration workflows is also important. Strong troubleshooting abilities, with a methodical approach to isolating root causes in complex environments, will be highly valued.

Responsibilities As a Security Engineer at HCLSoftware, your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of security engineering activities. You will deploy, configure, and maintain core security platforms, including endpoint detection and response (EDR), email security, secure service edge solutions, cloud security posture management, and identity controls.

Designing control rollouts that address coverage gaps, handle exceptions, and ensure performance efficiency will be a key part of your role. You will integrate security tools with SIEM and SOAR platforms to ensure telemetry collection and automated response capabilities are effectively operationalized. Monitoring control health, including agent coverage, policy compliance, and enforcement effectiveness, will be critical to maintaining a resilient security environment.

You will implement and manage security guardrails across multiple cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, including policy enforcement, posture monitoring, and remediation workflows. Building and maintaining hardened baselines for operating systems, containers, and cloud services aligned with industry benchmarks like CIS will be part of your scope. You will engineer secrets management, key lifecycle, and certificate controls in collaboration with platform teams, ensuring secure configurations across the infrastructure.

Supporting secure network design, including segmentation, egress controls, and remote access, will also fall under your responsibilities.

Automation will be a core aspect of your role, automating repetitive security operations through scripting, APIs, and infrastructure as code practices. You will treat security configurations as code, employing version control, peer reviews,



testing, and repeatable deployment processes. Building integrations between security, IT, and engineering systems to facilitate seamless data flows will enhance operational efficiency.

Documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures will be maintained to ensure that others can effectively operate and troubleshoot the security environment.

Operational support and incident remediation will involve supporting rapid control changes during security incidents, containment efforts, and forensic investigations. Partnering with Vulnerability Management, you will engineer scalable remediation solutions rather than handling issues on a ticket-by-ticket basis. Participation in on-call rotations will be required to respond to high-severity incidents and platform issues.

Additionally, you will contribute to collecting evidence for audits and customer assurance activities.

In the realm of AI security engineering, you will implement guardrails for internal AI and large language model systems, including protections against prompt injection, model poisoning, and data exfiltration. Maintaining and securing AI infrastructure, automating workflows leveraging AI/ML, and monitoring AI tool usage to ensure compliance with governance policies will be vital. Staying current on emerging AI threats and adapting security controls accordingly will be an ongoing focus.
