About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Corporate Associate to the Managing Director to work closely with the MD on business development, strategic initiatives, client meetings, and transaction-related activities within the Merchant Banking & Equity business.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on exposure to Merchant Banking, Equity Markets, Capital Markets, or Investment Banking and should be comfortable participating in high-level business discussions with the MD, clients, investors, promoters, bankers, consultants, and other stakeholders.
This is not a traditional Executive Assistant role. The position requires solid business understanding, financial acumen, analytical ability, and the confidence to actively participate in meetings and support the MD on business and transaction-related matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the MD on Merchant Banking, Equity and Capital Market initiatives.
- Attend meetings with the MD and actively understand and contribute to discussions related to IPOs, fundraising, equity transactions, business opportunities, and strategic partnerships.
- Prepare meeting briefs, discussion points, presentations, MIS, and other business-related materials for the MD.
- Capture key decisions, action points, and follow-ups from meetings and ensure timely closure.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on matters discussed during MD-level meetings.
- Support the MD in evaluating new business opportunities, clients, transactions, and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with promoters, investors, investment bankers, legal advisors, auditors, consultants, and other transaction stakeholders.
- Assist in preparation and review of pitch decks, company profiles, transaction summaries, and presentations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of equity markets, IPO processes, capital raising, valuation, and regulatory aspects relevant to Merchant Banking.
- Track key business meetings, commitments, deadlines, and follow-ups of the MD.
- Support preparation for client and investor meetings by gathering relevant company, transaction, and market information.
- Handle confidential business and transaction-related information with a high level of discretion.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and ensure timely execution with minimal supervision.
- Educational Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Finance or equivalent professional qualification would be preferred.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in Merchant Banking,
Investment Banking, Equity Markets, Capital Markets, IPO, or related financial services.
- Ability to understand business discussions and communicate effectively with senior management.
- Excellent meeting participation, coordination, follow-up, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial/business presentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, confidential, and highly demanding environment.
- High level of professionalism, maturity, ownership, and discretion.
Key Competencies The ideal candidate would be someone who has previously worked in:
- Manage the calendar, appointments, meetings of the executives.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings and prepare agenda.
- Prepare presentations, reports, MIS, business documents, and executive summaries.
- Coordinate with senior management, clients, investors, consultants, regulators, and other stakeholders.
- Handle confidential documents and sensitive business information with discretion.
- Organize board meetings, management meetings, and client meetings.
Important Note
This position is a business-facing role and should not be considered a conventional Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant position. The candidate will work closely with the MD on Merchant Banking, Equity, IPO, client, and strategic business matters and will be expected to understand the commercial and financial aspects of discussions
