About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the networking and firewall layers across our OCI managed services accounts. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless connectivity, optimal network performance, and robust security for our clients’ cloud infrastructure.

The Cloud Network

Engineer will serve as the primary escalation point for connectivity, firewall, and network-related issues, providing expert troubleshooting and resolution. The position offers an exciting prospect to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud networks for diverse enterprise environments.

Qualifications To qualify for this role, candidates should possess 4 to 6 years of experience in cloud or network engineering, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience managing firewalls. A strong practical understanding of TCP/IP, routing, NAT, DNS, and VPN technologies is essential,



along with the ability to analyze packet captures and diagnose network paths comprehensively.

Experience with FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager is required, with exposure to policy management, NAT rules, IPSec tunnels, and SSL VPNs. Candidates should have working knowledge of a major cloud platform’s networking stack, preferably OCI, although experience with AWS VPC or Azure VNet is also acceptable. Prior experience in a managed services, MSP, or enterprise support environment, especially within ticket-based workflows and SLA-driven processes, is highly valued.

Excellent written English communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with client IT teams and documentation purposes.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for configuring and managing network security across OCI environments, including VCNs, subnets, route tables, security lists, NSGs, service gateways, and load balancers. They will administer FortiGate firewalls and FortiManager, implementing policy changes, NAT rules, and establishing secure IPSec site-to-site tunnels and SSL VPNs. Handling day-to-day access requests such as port openings, IP/subnet whitelisting, and RDP/SSH/ICMP access between on-premises and cloud segments with proper change control is a core part of the role.

Troubleshooting connectivity and performance issues, including packet loss, latency, DNS resolution failures, routing challenges, and tunnel stability,



will be a key responsibility. The engineer will support the design and deployment of landing zones and VCNs for new client environments, including CIDR planning and hub-and-spoke topologies. Working within an SLA-driven ticketing system (Jira Service Management), they will document resolutions and develop runbooks to streamline routine changes.

Collaboration with OCI infrastructure, database, and SOC teams on migrations and deployments is also expected to ensure smooth operations and security compliance.
