Job Summary:
We are looking for a compassionate and qualified Clinical Psychologist to join our psychiatric hospital. The role involves psychological assessment, diagnosis support, individual and group therapy, counselling, psychological interventions, and maintaining clinical documentation for patients with various psychiatric and psychological conditions.
The position is open to freshers as well as experienced professionals with up to 8 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and clinical interviews to understand patients' psychological and behavioural concerns.
- Administer, score, and interpret appropriate standardized psychological and neuropsychological assessments, within the scope of professional qualification and hospital protocols.
- Provide individual and group psychological interventions to patients.
- Conduct counselling and psychotherapy sessions based on the patient's clinical needs and treatment plan.
- Work closely with Consultant Psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Assist psychiatrists in developing and reviewing patient treatment plans.
- Monitor patients' psychological progress and document clinical observations and interventions.
- Provide psychoeducation to patients and their family members regarding mental health conditions, treatment, coping strategies, and relapse prevention.
- Conduct behavioural interventions and therapeutic activities where clinically appropriate.
- Support patients with emotional, behavioural, and adjustment-related difficulties.
- Maintain accurate, confidential,
and timely clinical records and case documentation.
- Participate in case discussions, clinical meetings, and multidisciplinary reviews.
- Follow hospital policies, ethical standards, clinical protocols, and patient confidentiality requirements.
- Identify and appropriately escalate any concerns relating to self-harm, suicide risk, aggression, or other patient-safety risks to the appropriate clinical team.
- Participate in mental-health awareness, counselling, rehabilitation, and patient-support programmes conducted by the hospital.
- Maintain professional development through relevant training, supervision, and continuing education.
Educational Qualification
- MPhil in Clinical Psychology / Psychology from a recognized institution with RCI registration.
- Candidates must possess the requisite professional qualification/registration applicable to practice as a Clinical Psychologist in India, as required by prevailing regulations.
- Additional certification or training in psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, neuropsychology, or related areas will be an advantage.
Experience
- Freshers: Candidates with relevant qualifications and clinical training/internship experience may apply.
- 1–4 Years: Experience in psychiatric hospitals, mental-health clinics, rehabilitation centres, or similar clinical settings preferred.
- 5–8 Years: Strong experience in psychological assessment, psychotherapy, clinical case management, and multidisciplinary psychiatric care preferred.
