Role Description The Building Management System (BMS) Commissioning Engineer is a full-time on-site role based in Chennai. This position is responsible for testing, commissioning, and fine-tuning BMS and related automation systems to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in line with design specifications and client requirements. Day-to-day activities include reviewing system drawings and control strategies, configuring controllers and field devices, conducting functional and performance tests, and documenting commissioning reports.

The engineer collaborates with project managers, design engineers, and client representatives, supports troubleshooting during installation and handover,



and provides technical guidance to site teams and end users. The role also involves adherence to safety standards, coordination with other building services (HVAC, fire, security), and continuous improvement of commissioning practices.

Qualifications

- Technical expertise in BMS and building automation, including experience with field devices (sensors, actuators), controllers, and integration with HVAC, fire, and security systems.
- Strong skills in system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis for low-voltage and control systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and control schematics, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in using relevant software tools for configuration, monitoring, and reporting of BMS and automation systems.
- Solid understanding of safety standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to building services and protection systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with project teams, contractors, and clients on-site.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
- Prior experience in commissioning building management, fire, security, or automation systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to work in office in Chennai, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to project timelines and site conditions.
