Role Description The BIM Engineer-Mechanical (Scan to BIM) is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolkata. This role is responsible for converting laser scan data into accurate mechanical BIM models, focusing on HVAC and mechanical building systems within multidisciplinary projects. The BIM Engineer will create, update, and coordinate 3D models and construction drawings, ensure alignment with project standards, and collaborate closely with architects, structural engineers, civil engineers, and MEP teams to resolve design and coordination issues.

Daily tasks include interpreting point cloud data, performing clash detection,



preparing detailed documentation for construction and installation, and supporting design reviews and quality checks. The role also involves maintaining model integrity, adhering to project timelines, and contributing to continuous improvement of Scan-to-BIM workflows and standards.

Qualifications

- Strong proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) tools and processes, with experience in Scan-to-BIM workflows.
- Ability to produce and interpret exact Construction Drawings, including mechanical layouts and coordination plans.
- Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems, with a focus on mechanical building services and HVAC modeling.
- Understanding of Architecture and its integration with structural, civil, and MEP models for coordinated project delivery.
- Background in Civil Engineering or related disciplines, with familiarity in construction methods and industry standards.
- Proficiency in relevant BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and point cloud processing tools for laser scan data.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Prior experience in AEC projects, particularly in Scan-to-BIM or MEP coordination, is highly desirable.
