Purpose/Objective

Responsbile to ensure overall section management and operational efficiency in electrical maintenance activities, including preventive and breakdown maintenance, shutdown execution, inventory management, and vendor coordination.

This role focuses on optimizing equipment performance, ensuring safety compliance, and driving special projects and digitization efforts to enhance overall system reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Section In-charge - Electrical - Copper Shift Activity Planning, Resource Allocation, and Safety Governance: - Oversee the planning of shift activities to monitor equipment like rectifiers, furnaces, and transformers, ensuring smooth operations and efficiency.

- Allocate manpower and resources effectively for shift activities, ensuring quick resolution of electrical issues through real-time coordination with operations.
- Lead safety governance across shifts, ensuring compliance with electrical safety protocols and safe isolation of equipment during maintenance, as per permit procedures.

Preventive and Breakdown Maintenance: - Manage and implement preventive maintenance schedules for critical equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and consistent equipment performance.

- Lead the team in addressing breakdowns efficiently, coordinating with internal maintenance teams and external vendors for quick recovery.
- Supervise post-maintenance inspections and guide teams in identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent future failures.

Shutdown Maintenance Execution: - Plan and oversee the execution of shutdown activities, ensuring all tasks are completed safely and on time with minimal operational disruption.

- Supervise the isolation and preparation of equipment for maintenance during shutdowns, collaborating with third-party contractors when required.
- Direct post-shutdown inspections, ensuring all equipment is ready for safe operation before resuming normal functions.

Inventory Management and Spares: - Manage the availability and inventory of critical spares,



ensuring timely procurement and optimal stock levels for transformers, rectifiers, and other key equipment.

- Oversee regular audits of inventory to prevent shortages or excess and track usage for productive inventory control.
- Coordinate with the Area Incharge and procurement teams to ensure alignment between section needs and overall plant inventory management.

Vendor Management and Training: - Coordinate with external vendors for specialized maintenance services, ensuring high-quality and timely execution of tasks.

- Evaluate vendor performance, ensuring compliance with safety and maintenance standards.
- Lead the training of shift teams on safety protocols, equipment handling, and maintenance best practices to improve overall workforce efficiency and knowledge.

Special Projects and Digitization: - Lead special projects focused on improving equipment efficiency, including upgrades and process enhancements.

- Promote digitization and the adoption of new technologies, ensuring enhanced data monitoring, predictive maintenance, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives and reduce energy losses across the section.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field Master's degree or additional certifications in electrical maintenance is preferred Work Experience (Range of years): 6-8 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within the Copper Manufacturing industry Certifications: - Electrical Maintenance
