Role Description
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Architect to lead the discovery, architecture, design and validation of a reusable Workplace-on-Demand (EoD) factory leveraging the Client’s existing on-premises and cloud foundations. The role will focus on transforming the current environment management model into a scalable, automated, observable, and cost-attributable EoD capability.
Key Technology
Requirements
- Strong architecture experience across AWS, on-premises infrastructure, and preferably GCP.
- Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform and reusable automation patterns.
- Strong experience with GitLab CI/CD, pipeline templates, automation, and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of environment provisioning, application deployment, configuration management, service dependencies, and virtualisation.
- Understanding on database provisioning, test-data management, masking and refresh strategies.
- Knowledge of cloud/on-prem networking, compute, storage, IAM, containers and Kubernetes.
- Experience designing observability, CMDB integration, cost management and chargeback/showback capabilities.
- Strong understanding of architecture governance, security, operational models and enterprise integration.
- Ability to assess existing platforms, identify constraints, and design reusable reference architectures and implementation patterns.
- Strong documentation, stakeholder management and technical leadership skills Key responsibilities
- Lead discovery of existing platform foundations,
constraints, environment-booking processes, and current operating models.
- Assess application deployability, service dependencies, configuration, databases, test data, and virtualisation requirements.
- Working closely with customer stakeholders to understand priorities, constraints, expectations, and success criteria for the EoD platform.
- Liaise with customer architecture, Environment, Testing and project teams to understand the landscape, drive alignment, resolve technical dependencies and secure decisions required to finalise the design.
- Define the EoD reference architecture, reusable IaC patterns, and architecture/governance decisions across AWS, on-premises and GCP.
- Design and build reusable GitLab EoD pipeline templates and automation for workplace provisioning and application deployment.
- Establish reusable patterns for configuration, virtualisation, test-data provisioning, sizing, cost attribution, and observability.
- Define the EoD governance, operating model, onboarding toolkit, and implementation guidance for project teams.
- Lead pilot implementation and validate observability, CMDB integration, cost attribution, operational readiness, and architecture compliance.
- Translate pilot outcomes into recommendations, identified gaps and risks, acceptance criteria, and a prioritised next-wave implementation backlog.
