About the Role

ZiffyHealth is looking for a hands-on Technical Lead to take ownership of an existing healthcare technology platform and lead its transition to an in-house engineering team.

The selected candidate will manage technical knowledge transfer, audit the existing codebase, establish development controls and take responsibility for architecture, development, testing, deployment and production stability.

We extensively use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude and Codex. The candidate must be highly capable of using these tools while independently reviewing, validating and maintaining the resulting code.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead complete technical knowledge transfer from the existing consultant
- Audit source code, architecture, databases, infrastructure and integrations
- Take ownership of company repositories, cloud environments and deployment pipelines
- Convert product requirements into structured technical plans and weekly releases
- Design and maintain secure, scalable frontend and backend architecture
- Review code and mentor other developers
- Oversee APIs, databases, authentication, role-based access and integrations
- Manage staging, production deployment, backups and recovery
- Identify technical debt, security risks and incomplete functionality




- Maintain architecture, API and deployment documentation
- Ensure that at least two internal team members can deploy and troubleshoot the product
- Work directly with the founders on product priorities and delivery

Required Skills

- Robust full-stack software engineering experience
- Backend development, REST APIs and database architecture
- Modern web frontend frameworks
- Cloud deployment and production troubleshooting
- Git-based source-code management and code-review practices
- Authentication, authorization, data security and API integration
- Ability to understand and improve an existing codebase
- Strong experience with AI-assisted software development
- Ability to review, explain and test AI-generated code
- Clear communication, documentation and ownership

- Healthcare, health-tech, SaaS or regulated-data platforms
- Mobile, PWA, kiosk or cross-platform applications
- IoT or medical-device integrations
- FHIR, ABDM, DICOM, LIS or hospital-system integrations
- DevOps, automated testing and application-security practices

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to review a sample codebase, identify technical risks and present a practical 30-day takeover and delivery plan.
