About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic, confident, and student-focused Admission Counsellor to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for counselling students and parents, understanding their educational requirements, explaining suitable courses, handling admission enquiries, and supporting the institute in achieving its admission targets.
The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, strong convincing abilities, and a genuine interest in helping students make the right academic and career decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle enquiries from students and parents through phone calls, walk-ins, WhatsApp, and other communication channels.
- Counsel students and parents regarding available courses, batches, fees, schedules, and academic programs.
- Understand students' educational goals and recommend suitable courses.
- Provide accurate information about coaching programs, including School Classes (4–12), JEE, NEET, Railway and other competitive/academic programs.
- Conduct follow-up calls and maintain regular communication with prospective students.
- Convert qualified enquiries into admissions while maintaining a professional and student-friendly approach.
- Maintain records of leads, counselling sessions, follow-ups, and admissions.
- Coordinate with faculty and the academic team regarding student requirements and batch allocation.
- Assist students and parents throughout the admission and registration process.
- Maintain proper documentation of admission forms, fee details, and student information.
- Follow up with interested candidates and inactive leads to improve conversion.
- Meet assigned monthly admission and counselling targets.
- Participate in admission campaigns, seminars, parent meetings, education fairs, and promotional activities.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and the institute team.
- Provide feedback to management regarding student requirements, market trends, and admission enquiries.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and counselling skills.
- Confident and persuasive personality.
- Good command of English and Hindi.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Strong follow-up and lead-conversion skills.
- Target-oriented and self-motivated.
- Good knowledge of MS Office, Excel, WhatsApp and basic computer operations.
- Skilled appearance and positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Candidates with a background in Education, Management, Psychology, Marketing, Sales, or Communication will be preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in admission counselling, education sales, student counselling, tele-calling, customer relationship management, or a similar role is preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication skills and a strong interest in education may also be considered.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Performance will be evaluated based on:
- Number of enquiries handled.
- Quality and effectiveness of counselling.
- Follow-up performance.
- Enquiry-to-admission conversion rate.
- Monthly admission targets achieved.
- Student and parent satisfaction.
- Accuracy of admission records and documentation.
- Contribution to admission campaigns and promotional activities.
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate should be confident, energetic, disciplined, empathetic, and result-oriented, with the ability to understand students' needs and guide them toward appropriate educational programs. Candidates who have experience working in coaching institutes, schools, colleges, education companies, ed-tech organizations, or student counselling environments will be given preference.
