Company Description Superfan.ng (SPNG) is an edtech learning platform focused on African languages and cultural knowledge. The product is a gamified, quiz-first app that explores African proverbs, traditions, rites of passage, festivals, folklore, and customs. Designed for Africans and the diaspora, SPNG aims to make learning engaging, accessible, and culturally grounded.

The platform blends play and education to help users deepen their understanding of African heritage while building language skills.

Role Description As a User Experience Designer at Superfan.ng (SPNG), you will design intuitive, engaging experiences for a gamified language and culture learning platform in a full time, remote capacity. You will translate product requirements and user insights into user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for mobile and web interfaces. Your day-to-day work will include conducting user research and usability testing, synthesizing findings into clear design decisions, and collaborating with product managers, engineers, and content creators.

You will help define and refine design systems, ensure visual consistency, and iterate on features based on data and feedback to improve user engagement and learning outcomes. You will also contribute to user-centered product strategy,



ensuring the platform reflects diverse African cultures in an inclusive and respectful way.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in User Experience (UX) and Design Thinking, with the ability to apply user-centered design processes from discovery to delivery.
- Experience in User Research, including planning studies, conducting interviews or surveys, and translating insights into actionable design recommendations.
- Proficiency in Prototyping and interaction design using modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD or similar), with the ability to create low- and high-fidelity prototypes.
- Solid Visual Design skills, including layout, typography, color, and accessibility best practices for mobile and web interfaces.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally in distributed or remote teams.
- Understanding of gamification, learning experience design, or edtech products; familiarity with African cultures or languages is a strong plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX work and shipped digital products.
