Proxima Executive Search has been mandated by a well-established Bengaluru-headquartered business group in the Ferro Alloys, Metals and Minerals sector to identify an accomplished Vice President – Operations.

n

The Group has a long-standing industry presence spanning manufacturing, trading, sourcing and distribution of Ferro Alloys, Metals, Minerals, Ores and allied metallurgical products. It caters to a diversified customer base comprising steel plants, foundries and other manufacturing industries, supported by an established pan-India distribution and warehousing network.

The position will be based in Bengaluru, reporting directly to the Director, with responsibility for leading two manufacturing units located in Andhra Pradesh.

The Opportunity

n

The Vice President – Operations will be a hands-on techno-commercial leader responsible for driving manufacturing performance while also contributing to customer management, business growth, projects and organizational effectiveness.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Provide overall leadership to two manufacturing plants located in Andhra Pradesh.
n
- Deliver targeted production output, cost, quality, productivity and operational-efficiency parameters.
n
- Drive improvements in furnace productivity, yield, recovery, energy efficiency and manufacturing costs.
n
- Ensure plant reliability, process discipline and consistent achievement of production plans.
n
- Lead Key Account Management and strengthen relationships with existing customers.
n
- Identify and generate additional business opportunities from existing clientele.
n
- Lead people and process management, building accountability and performance orientation across manufacturing operations.
n
- Oversee brownfield projects,



capacity enhancement, debottlenecking and operational-improvement initiatives.
n
- Ensure projects are executed within agreed cost, schedule, quality and performance parameters.
n
- Drive cross-functional coordination across Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, Projects, Supply Chain, Commercial and Finance.
n
- Oversee general administration of manufacturing operations.
n
- Ensure adherence to safety, statutory, environmental and regulatory requirements.
n
- Provide regular operational and business-performance updates to the Director.
n

Critical Experience Requirement

n

Hands-on experience in managing manufacturing units operating Submerged Arc Furnaces (SAF) and/or Alumino-Thermic Furnaces is a critical requirement for this position.

n

Ideal Candidate Profile

n

We are looking for an accomplished operations leader with:

n

n
- 20+ years of progressive manufacturing and operations experience, preferably in Ferro Alloys, Metals or allied metallurgical industries.
n
- Significant senior leadership experience as VP – Operations / Head – Operations / Manufacturing Head / Plant Head or equivalent.
n
- Proven experience managing multiple manufacturing units.
n
- Strong hands-on exposure to Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) and/or Alumino-Thermic Furnace operations.
n
- Demonstrated ability to deliver improvements in output, productivity, quality, yield, cost and operational efficiency.
n
- Experience in brownfield projects, capacity expansion and process improvement.
n
- Exposure to Key Account Management and business development from existing customers.
n
- Solid people leadership and cross-functional management capabilities.
n
- Sound commercial and financial understanding of manufacturing operations.
n
- Engineering qualification, preferably in Metallurgy, Mechanical, Chemical or an allied discipline.
