who we are

Openhouse is building a new-age learning ecosystem for children, bringing high-quality learning experiences across academics, sports and extracurriculars closer to where children live. Backed by leading investors including Accel, Matrix Partners and GSV, Openhouse has grown to 12 learning centres across Bangalore, reaching 10,000 children through our centres and programs. We are now taking this experience beyond our centres and into the communities where families live.

Over the last three months, we have already gone live in 12 apartments, bringing Openhouse's learning experiences directly into residential communities. This is just the beginning. Our ambition is to build a significant At Apartment and At Home presence across Bangalore, making high-quality learning accessible without children having to travel across the city.

what you will do

Build how children find their voice at openhouse

We’re looking for a English SME to join us at the start of this journey.

Build: Work with our Acads LxD Lead to design and strengthen our English curriculum, learning resources and pedagogy.

Teach: Deliver 1:1 English sessions through our At Home programme and understand children at an individual level.

Create: Make language learning engaging through stories, conversations, reading, writing, games and real-world experiences.

Learn: Understand how children develop language skills,



where they struggle and what helps them become confident communicators.

Improve: Bring classroom insights back to the curriculum team and continuously improve what we build.

Scale: Help create the English teaching playbook and eventually mentor other English teachers.

who we’re looking for

Preschool & Extracurriculars 2–6 years of experience teaching English to children aged 5–12. Strong understanding of English language, grammar, reading and writing. A teacher who can help children build confidence, think clearly and express themselves—not just learn grammar. Strong classroom presence and ability to adapt to different learning levels. Curious, reflective and excited by the opportunity to build something from scratch.

Experience with curriculum design, experiential learning or 1:1 teaching is a plus.

the Prospect

This is more than a teaching role.

You’ll be among the first members of our Academics team, helping shape how English is taught at Openhouse—from curriculum to classroom. For the right person, this role can evolve into English Head Teacher / Subject Lead within a few months, with ownership of the English category as we scale.
