Store Manager – Supermarket

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Performance

- Take complete ownership of the store's sales and profitability.
- Drive achievement of monthly sales targets.
- Monitor daily, weekly and monthly sales performance against targets.
- Analyse department-wise sales, GP%, average bill value, footfall and conversion.
- Develop strategies to increase sales, customer footfall and basket size.
- Ensure effective execution of promotions, offers and seasonal campaigns.
- Identify slow-moving categories and implement corrective sales strategies.

2. Grocery & FMCG Operations

- Manage Grocery, FMCG and daily-needs categories effectively.
- Ensure proper product availability and optimum assortment.
- Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products.
- Ensure proper shelf availability, planogram compliance, pricing and display.
- Monitor expiry, near-expiry and damaged stock.
- Coordinate with category/purchase teams to maintain optimum stock levels.

3. Purchase & Vendor Coordination

- Hands-on involvement in purchase and procurement activities for grocery and FMCG.
- Coordinate with central purchase/category teams and suppliers.
- Monitor vendor performance, pricing, schemes, discounts and credit terms.
- Identify local purchase opportunities where required.
- Ensure purchase decisions are aligned with sales demand and inventory requirements.
- Maintain robust vendor relationships while ensuring commercial discipline.

4. Inventory Management

- Maintain optimum inventory levels based on sales and stock movement.
- Monitor stock ageing, stock turnover and inventory value.
- Ensure accurate receiving, GRN, put-away and stock transfer processes.




- Conduct regular stock verification and physical inventory checks.
- Minimise stock discrepancies, damages, expiry and pilferage.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices.

5. Gross Margin & Cost Control

- Monitor Gross Profit (GP), Gross Margin and department-wise profitability.
- Control excessive discounts and unnecessary markdowns.
- Monitor wastage, shrinkage and operational losses.
- Control manpower and other store operating expenses.
- Work towards improving store profitability without compromising customer service.

6. Team Management

- Lead, supervise and motivate the complete store team.
- Plan manpower deployment according to business requirements.
- Set daily responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Monitor attendance, discipline and productivity.
- Conduct regular team briefings and performance reviews.
- Train employees on customer service, product knowledge and operational SOPs.

7. Store Operations

- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the supermarket.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, merchandising and customer service.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and operational procedures.
- Monitor billing, receiving, replenishment, cash handling and closing procedures.
- Coordinate with HR, Finance, Purchase, Operations and Management.

8. Customer Experience

- Ensure excellent customer service throughout the store.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor customer feedback and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure proper product availability, pricing and promotional communication.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
